The Record
How we know what we know
Everything here is built from public evidence, classified by how strong it is. Nothing is inferred, nothing is rounded up, and the difference between what someone uses and what merely resembles it is never blurred.
The six classes
She stated or showed, first-hand, that she uses it. Interviews, podcasts, her own video or posts.
157 claims
A named professional documented using it for her. Phrased as “used on”, never as her endorsement.
59 claims
A brand publicly recorded the use. Useful, and labelled as brand-supplied.
20 claims
A credible publication identified it. We trace toward the original source and say when we couldn’t reach it.
138 claims
It appears to match a photograph. Never stated as fact, and never allowed high confidence.
10 claims
The claim occurs within a campaign, collaboration, gifting or her own brand. Always visible.
81 claims
The rules we hold ourselves to
Repetition is not evidence. Ten sites copying one uncited claim count as one weak claim, not ten. We trace toward the original and say plainly when we can’t reach it.
Conflicts are shown, not resolved. Where two credible sources disagree, both appear. We don’t pick a winner to make a page tidier.
No invented precision. If a shade isn’t documented, we say the shade isn’t documented — and the page shows no swatch rather than a guessed one.
Paid relationships are shown, never buried. A campaign doesn’t mean she doesn’t use it. It means you should know before you decide.
Similar is never “worn”. Alternatives appear in a separate, dashed frame and are labelled as not documented on her.
No photographs of people. The colour on every page is sampled from the documented product itself — an approximation of a named shade, shown as an aid, never as a claim about the product.
Unsourceable claims get published as such. We keep a public corrections list of 41 widely repeated claims we could not document.
Independence
Actually Worn is independent. Brands, publicists and representatives may submit evidence or corrections; they cannot buy inclusion, and they cannot change how a claim is classified.
